TOO MANY MOULDINGS???

[Thank you Penin22 for today's post. To all readers: Please post a comments on any topic; your comment might just be tomorrow's post for all to see. - KollelVeib]

I had the opportunity to attend a function at the new wedding hall in Lakewood last week.

Unfortunately, I found the place to be beautiful; indirect ambient lighting providing a counterpoint to glorious crystal chandeliers, exquisitely detailed mouldings embellishing layer upon layer of the soaring heights of the ceiling - in short, a wedding hall to rival the schmaltziest of what BoroPark has to offer.

Of course, the new reality will be that anyone who can only afford Bais Faiga or never saw anything wrong with Bais Faiga will now have to worry about being perceived as cheap, or even worse - lower middle-class, if they do not spend the extra thousands of $$s on the new place.

Of course, in a year or two we will need someplace new that is really over the top so that the very very VERY rich people can feel superior to the middle class who are already using this formerly new hall.

And so the spiral towards the depths of Gashmius and our community's metamorphasis into BoroPark #2 continues.

Oh, how I weep for thee, my Lakewood . . .
