I think you missed an even funnier letter in the same issue of "The Voice" which read as follows:

Dear Editor,

In your most recent "Column of the Improbable", the magic trick called for the tearing of dollar bills. Dollar bills are federal property and it is a crime to willfully damage them. Dina dimalchusa dina would also apply, rendering such an act as both illegal and against halacha.

I know this is supposed to be a Lakewood blog but does everyone know about the story in Monsey with the "Kosher" butcher who sold thousands of pounds of treife chickens with fake "Vineland"/"Kiryas Joel" labels. A substantial portion of Monsey's Jews have been eating pure neveilos thanks to this guy.

What a great way to start off Ellul . . .
