You don't need permission to move to Lakewood. You just have to realize who was there first. I wouldn't move to a community whose school system I don't like, and if you don't like Lakewood, either(1)stay away, (2)start your own school first, (3)put up and don't complain.

Tragically many seem to take NON-option(4): Start a blog full of rechilus,letzonis,machlokes,and am haartzus.

The truth is that all this "I went to look good for myself" thing is that it is a plain lie. Woman schlep around all day in their house in a snood, and they seem to feel fine with themselves (and with their husbands seeing them that way). The minute they go out to the Freehold mall or some other such important place, the sheitel goes on "Not chas veshalom to look good for anyone else; it's for me to feel good about myself." Rrrriiiiiigghhhht.

And then of course when they get back home and it's "only" their husband around, you guessed it - the wig comes off and the snood goes back on.

Do what you want, but c'mon, don't lie to yourself as to why you are doing it.

Judaism specifically teaches that a woman is not allowed to put on make-up outside because men might look.

A little blush, etc. to make her look okay, as in not washed out, is probably fine, ask your local Rabbi, but more than that is probably not permitted ACCORDING TO HALACHA, no chumros in this one.

The reality is that a Kiddush HaShem is when people, Jew and/or non-Jews, look at an individual and say "Ashrei Mi Shegidlo LaTorah - Fortunate is the one who raised this person in the ways of Torah"

When someone's behaviour be he Rebbe, Rosh Yeshiva, or Baal Habos, causes people to say "How disgusting are the ways of the Torah" r"l that is called a Chillul HaShem.
